Publishers that Do Right by People

Given that certain publishers (we'll call them Bolden Gell to protect their identity) have gained infamy for throwing their designers and players under the bus, I recently asked the Solo Board Gamers group on Facebook about the publishers they trust to do right by people. The response was overwhelming, with well over 100 people chiming in to give props to a wide swath of publishers. The comments section of Facebook can be a bit hard to parse, so I put together a quick visual summary of the results:
Kudos to these publishers! It was super heartening to see just how many amazing experiences people have had, and it validates what a tight-knit and caring group this is. Throw some love to these publishers the next time you're looking to pick up a game, and let me know if there are any I missed!

Board Game Equity Pyramid

As I've gotten into game design, I've found many of the tools from my "day job" in brand strategy super helpful. I recently put out a poll to the game design community asking what brand strategy topics might be useful to them, and overwhelmingly the #1 request was for help clearly communicating the equity of a game to others. I mashed up a couple of brand strategy tools through the specific lens of board game design, and this is the result! You can get a blank template for yourself right here . Fill it out (either for the board game you're designing, or for an existing game as practice) and post your results here. I geek out about this kind of marketing stuff, and would love to deconstruct it with you! What about the template is most useful? What's not useful? What's missing?
